Key Features
- Reverse-Rolled Color Negative Film
- ISO 125/22° in C41 Process
- Strong Red, Yellow, and Orange Cast
- Effect Can Be Controlled By Exposure
Harman Red 125Â arrives as a special film dedicated to redscale enthusiasts. By exposing your image through the film’s base and red-sensitive layer, results deliver overwhelming hues of red, orange, and yellow, while removing almost all blue tonalities and embracing prominent and pronounced shadows. This 35mm film offers a medium ISO speed of 125, a clear base, no anti-halation layer, and high red sensitivity for a near-perfect emulsion that ensures minimal speed loss.
Exposure
Overexposure will typically give finer grain and more dominant orange and red tones. Under exposure will show more greens, coarser grain, and prominent shadows:
Â
- Underexposure – Coarser grain, prominent shadows, and subtle greens.
- Normal exposure – Normal grain, stronger orange tones, and softer shadows.
- Overexposure – Finer grain, higher contrast, and dominant red/orange tonalities.
Scanning
Harman Red should be processed in C41/CN16 processing chemicals. No processing adjustment is required for bracketed exposures.
Â
- Unlike standard colour films, the emulsion layer on redscale films is on the reverse. Therefore, for best results when the orientation of the emulsion can be easily reversed by using a reloadable cartridge if necessary.
- Can be easily scanned on a range of commercial scanners.
- With other C41 process films, Digital Image Correction and Enhancement (Digital ICE) can be used to remove dust and scratches automatically from the image.
